This bodyguard and his K-9
will do anything to uncover the truth.

Stumbling upon a burning car and rescuing an injured woman wasn’t on bodyguard Caleb Miller’s vacation itinerary—nor were the gunmen who open fire on them. But Olivia Delaney has no memory of who she is or how she got there, only that she is under threat. Vowing to protect the woman in danger, Caleb and his K-9 go on the run with Olivia. As they work to stay a step ahead of her pursuers, they must untangle her past together…before her family’s deadly schemes bury them both.

From Love Inspired Suspense: Courage. Danger. Faith.

My Journey to Faith

While I have always believed in God, my journey to true faith began when I was older. Somehow, when I was younger, I believed in more of a vague way, and I viewed God more as a punisher to be afraid of angering. Though that fear didn’t keep me from committing my share of sins. It was only as I got older, and after several incidents, that I came to understand God’s love.

The first incident happened when I was in my thirties. Exhausted from having a one-year-old who didn’t sleep through the night, I climbed into the crib with him and closed my eyes. The next thing I knew, a firm hand on my shoulder shook me awake. I assumed it was my daughter or husband, but when I sat up, no one was there. I looked down and found my son at the bottom of the crib with a blanket wrapped around his head. When I untangled him, he was still asleep, and his face was beet red. I later asked both my husband and daughter if they had woken me, even knowing they’d have tended to him if they had, and they both said no. To this day I shudder to think what would have happened without that divine intervention.

The second incident was about six months later, when my son went in for a double hernia surgery. I was alone in the hospital waiting room, terrified, as I paced back and forth, when I suddenly felt an arm around my shoulder. There was no mistaking the feeling, as I was wide awake at the time, and it brought more comfort than I can explain.

Looking back, I realized there were other times that help came from unexpected places or at unexpected times. And my faith grew stronger.

Then, one night, I had a dream that felt real. I was in space fighting a dragon, and I was about to lose. As the dragon’s mouth came down around me, I could feel the heat, the terror. His mouth started to close, and I was about to be crushed between his teeth, when I closed my eyes, threw my arms up, and said, “I give myself to God.” The next thing I knew, I was floating upward, and I could see my boys on the bed below me. I reached for them and started to fall, then jerked awake as I landed beside them. Although the dream itself was terrifying, I didn’t wake afraid. I woke with a sense of peace, as if so many burdens had been lifted.

My own journey was a powerful one and, while I love writing romantic suspense, I am also honored to share my characters’ journeys to faith.

My review of Exposing Lethal Secrets

I love Deena Alexander’s Love Inspired Suspense books and have read them all! She’s got the ability to draw you in from page one, and once you start, you won’t want to stop! Exposing Lethal Secrets was no exception.

When Olivia Delaney discovers some unethical practices going on in her late father’s business, she wants to hand the evidence to the police and wash her hands of the whole thing. However, she never gets there because she’s in an accident and loses her memory. While taking some time off, Caleb Greene is hoping to relax with his dog after a harrowing case. Then he sees smoke, runs to help, and finds himself mixed up with this wandering woman who has lost her memory and has people shooting at her!

I was totally enthralled while reading Exposing Lethal Secrets! It’s one of those books that you just can’t read fast enough. The action propels the story from one dangerous situation to another, and realistic characters make you care about them in those situations. The author skillfully depicts the different settings, and I was seriously stressed when they were in the Florida swamps. As much as I love visiting Florida, there sure is a lot of wildlife that wants to kill you! Okay, maybe they don’t want to but still…they can.

This is a clean Christian romance, and I just loved watching Olivia and Caleb fall in love as they navigate the dangerous situations they’re thrown into. I highly recommend Exposing Lethal Secrets for its thrilling action, wonderfully written characters, atmospheric suspense, sweet romance, and theme of trusting God’s plan. 5 stars!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review, Christy!! I’m so happy you enjoy my stories! I have to say, I always visited Florida, but I was a bit surprised to find out how many dangerous animals there were when we moved here. In the first week we lived here, I went out one night to walk my dog, turned around, and ran smack into an armadillo. I have since come across alligators (one HUGE), snakes, cranes, and found a Huntsman spider on my dining room wall. Talk about terrifying! Thank you so much for hosting me and for sharing the release of Exposing Lethal Secrets!
